Paddle Light Parade
A new event started at the 2019 Winter Solstice.
Decorate your boat with lights and paddle out on Banks Lake for prizes!
BIG Little River Paddle Race (BLRPR)
The last Saturday in April.
Our first big event, started way back in 2013, a three-mile downstream course on the Little River to the Reed Bingham State Park Lake. First prize is $100, with strong competition. Or you can just paddle. Proceeds benefit Friends of Reed Bingham State Park (FORB) and WWALS.
Suwannee Riverkeeper Songwriting Contest
Late August, inside in air conditioning.
There should be more songs about the Suwannee River, or the Withlacoochee, Willacoochee, Alapaha, Alapahoochee, Little, New, Dead, or Gopher Rivers, Okapilco, Piscola, or other Creeks, the Okefenokee Swamp, Grand Bay, or springs, sinks, swamps, or ponds.
WWALS Boomerang paddle race
Late October or early November, on the Withlacoochee River.
Some friendly cross-state-line rivalry, in a fun filled day of paddle racing and leisurely paddling on an idyllic blackwater river. Plenty of water, no deadfalls, plus shoals!
